Update 18 February 2022

Dear student, positive news at last! As of 18 February 2022 the rules on assigned seating, wearing a face mask and keeping 1.5 metres apart will no longer apply.

The self-isolation recommendation will be relaxed as of Friday 18 February as well. The minimum period of isolation will be shortened from 7 days to 5 days (if you are symptom-free for 24 hours). You should still self-isolate after a positive test, even if you have had a booster vaccine. If you have tested positive and have symptoms of COVID-19, the self-isolation period begins from the time you developed symptoms. If you test positive but do not have symptoms, the period starts on the test date.

To ensure that vulnerable people are able to travel safely, the requirement to wear a face mask on public transport and at airports will remain in force even after 25 February.

It is advisable for everyone to keep following the recommendations that have proven effective in limiting the spread of the virus: washing your hands, coughing and sneezing into your elbow, not shaking hands, making sure there is plenty of fresh air, self-testing regularly and getting tested when you have symptoms.

We would like to thank you for your cooperation and support during the corona crisis that also hit STE Languages. Let’s hope for a beautiful and healthy spring!

Update 19 December 2021

Since Sunday 19 December 05.00 hours The Netherlands are in lock down again. Courses and training required for the exercise of a profession or business can still take place. Face to face lessons will therefore continue at our school, but you can follow your class online as well.

The following measures are still in place at STE Languages:

  • Face masks will be mandatory in the hallways and open areas. Masks can be removed in the classrooms.

  • If you have a cold, stay at home; you can take the class online.

  • If you appear to have symptoms of a cold in class, the trainer will request you to leave class and go home.

  • In the case of persistent symptoms, stay at home and have yourself tested at the GGD regardless of whether you have been fully vaccinated.

  • If the test is positive, stay at home and avoid contact with others, even if they have been fully vaccinated. Follow the national rules regarding quarantine.

  • Keep 1.5 meters distance from others at all times, including in classrooms.

  • Do not shake hands.

  • Wash your hands often and thoroughly.

  • If you need to cough and/or sneeze, do so into your elbow.

Please note: students with a DUO loan are now permitted to follow 100% of the lessons online during this lock down – this has been communicated by the Ministry, DUO and Blik op Werk. However, it still applies that students with a DUO loan who start lessons at STE Languages for the first time (registered as a new student), must physically attend the first 12 hours (6x2 hours).

Coffee breaks will be staggered. The times are displayed on the doors of the classrooms.

STE will ensure that there is sufficient fresh air and ventilation in all indoor areas.

Thank you for your cooperation.
