In addition to e-learning and podcasts, students can now also use micro-learning in various languages. Micro-learning Spanish has recently been added to the portfolio. After Mandarin Chinese, Spanish is the most widely spoken language in the world. Because little English is spoken in Spanish-speaking countries, a good command of the Spanish language is essential.

STE Languages has been providing language training for TMC Holding for many years. Recently, TMC Holding and STE Languages have continued their collaboration and signed a 3-year partnership contract.

Those who have to flee from war not only leave home and hearth behind but are also forced to build a new life. In Eindhoven, three parties have joined forces to help refugee Ukrainians. The Municipality of Eindhoven, three employers (AVT Wiring & Connecting, Team Duurzaam and Ergon) and STE Languages together ensure that people are not only guided to work, but also learn the Dutch language. What is special about this is that the language training takes place in the workplace.

What does it take to get in touch with the Dutch culture to interact socially? Learning the language can make a big difference. 25 years ago Philips had its own “talen afdeling”, and that language department has been split off as STE Languages. Learning Dutch? Language courses are not a one-size-fits-all. Learning for your Dutch inburgerings-examen may not teach you the Dutch that is most effective in your job. Some people like to quickly engage in a conversation, others like to understand the grammar of the language before they feel comfortable. Stepping into a new country is like entering a labyrinth of language and culture, each offering a unique array of experiences. As an American living in the Netherlands, I found myself immersed in a world where intriguing words and phrases swirled around me. I felt almost like a detective, always trying to decipher the meaning and gain the essence of the word. Finding out the meaning behind a word always made it more fun and engaging for me to learn what it was about.
