Work and language: the key to a flying start

25 september 2026

Helping newcomers get to work as quickly as possible while simultaneously enabling them to learn the language, that is the core of a new recommendation from the Social and Economic Council (SER). According to the SER, work, language, and involvement should go hand in hand from day one, allowing talents to be utilized sooner and helping people find their place in society more quickly.

For STE Languages, this is a familiar concept. After all, you don't learn a language solely in the classroom; you learn it primarily by using it every day. A job offers not only work experience but also contact with colleagues, increased self-confidence, and greater engagement with society.

That is precisely why we believe in practical language training that aligns with work and daily life. Because the sooner language and practice come together, the sooner newcomers can participate, grow, and put their talents to use.

Language opens doors. Work helps people move forward. Together, they make the difference.
